With over 20 years experience in the Industry she founded RIO In 2009 – Cutting hair is her absolute fav! Monika is a huge advocate for the humane society and AARCS.
Fun Facts: Monika is Bilingual, Czech is her first language.
Amanda, @amandaprozil
Amanda has been at RIO salon since 2015. Raised in Portugal she did her cosmetology education.
She is one of our master stylist and makeup artist.
Keeping her passion for hair and women’s beauty for more then 20years Amanda continues participating in many seminars loving colours and cuts to give the best services to her clients and there needs.

This busy mom of 3 lovely children does her best to keep everything in a nice balance.

Still building her clientelle she continues to take part in the latest cutting/colouring seminars and updated extension techniques. She is our go to gal for all things Amika and their product knowledge.

Joana, @hair_by_joana_rio
Joana was born and raised in Portugal and moved to Edmonton in 2016.
She has been in the beauty industry for more then 8 years, and has been working at salon family since she was fourteen.
Her education was from back home and she always looking for more opportunity education.
She’s specializes on haircuts, colours, highlights as well as balayage.
Joana wants to make each client feel their best, and insure they leave happy.
Joana is a loving mother of 2 amazing kids, and they keep her busy on her time off

Amber is our new Stylist/Apprentice.
She went to MC and Alberta Academy for Hair and Makeup. Loves ladies cuts! While building on her growing clientele, Amber will be working along side Monika and Amanda to learn a few more tricks of the trade.
Amber grew up in Ontario with a huge family! Likes: art, video games, reading and wine

Tracy has over 30 years experience in the hairstyling industry. She has owned a salon, judged hair competitions, and was a member of the apprenticeship board for 12 years.
Moving to Edmonton 3 years ago from Grande Prairie has brought exciting challenges and she is looking forward to expanding her clientele here.

After years of education from Macewan, Eveline Charles, and with Sephora Canada, I graduated from cosmetology school in 2020, and have since trained in high end, fast paced salons! My passion is to create some seriously beautiful looks from lived in to funky colour, with the goal always to make you feel and look your best!

I’ve recently moved to Edmonton from Drayton Valley. I graduated from MC College June of 2021 and have been working in salons since! I chose this career because I get to meet new people every day and build relationships with so many. I love this job because every day is different, constantly learning new techniques and approaches.
